Bright Ideas has been working with Network for Africa, a charity working in African countries impacted by war, conflict and genocide, for several years.

The support we have provided has been varied and involved researching funders, writing funding applications and supporting the team at Network for Africa to develop the skills to write their own high quality funding applications.

We have also helped the charity with strategic development, supporting them to write an organisational strategy.

In total, Bright Ideas has supported Network for Africa to generate over £2.7million in funding, including grants from large international funders such as the Guernsey Overseas Aid Committee. Comic Relief, the Lottery and DFID’s Global Poverty Action Fund.

Bright Ideas are different to any fundraising consultancy I have used before. Jo is very hands on and offers practical advice; she will help with drafting; she will help prepare you for assessment interviews with funders; she will help you research funders; she will offer mentoring which is invaluable for me as a CEO which can sometimes be a lonely position.

When I joined our income was £90k, with most of it coming from one major donor. Since working with Bright Ideas our income is now approaching £450k. This has enabled us to professionalise and be more ambitious with our projects. With Bright Ideas’ help we have a 5-year strategic plan and have a clear mission and direction for our work. We feel that we now punch way above our weight.
