Sebastian’s Action Trust

Bright Ideas worked with Sebastian’s Action Trust to help them secure continuation funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for their outreach service for families with seriously ill children.

The charity had an inexperienced grant fundraiser who needed support with preparing and writing the National Lottery Community Fund application. We also advised the charity to undertake additional consultation with the families they work with to demonstrate the need for their service as well as a review of how they were recording, monitoring and evaluating the impact of their family outreach service.

The charity was successful in securing £362,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to continue and expand upon their outreach service so they could support more families.

Bright ideas were able to use their considerable experience to really challenge our submission for continuation funding. Working with a consultancy, we were able to produce an effective internal evaluation of our outreach service, which has helped to provide evidence of need for other (now funded) projects.

Without Bright Ideas’ support overseeing the submission for continuation funding to the Lottery, we would not have secured the £362,000 we needed to continue and expand our outreach service for families with seriously ill children.

We are most grateful for the support given whilst working together.
